Age 3 to 93

Ballet   Tap   Ballroom

Group lessons and private lessons are arranged to fit your schedule.

In PRESCHOOL DANCE children

are taught a combination of ballet, tap, acrobatics and age appropriate songs. They wear ballet slippers the entire session. Beginning with the first lesson they acquire skills , knowledge and the JOY of MOVEMENT. They blossom.

What's Happening Now,

Tap dancing is noisy! It is the dance of America. We teach traditional tap and rhythm tap. Children love tap dancing . Their grandparents love  tap dancing . Learning new rhythms is fun.

Ballet is languid. Ballet is frisky. Ballet is relaxing . It soothes the spirit and improves posture. Ballet students begin at the barre and progress to the centre. French terminology is introduced in the first lesson. The students learn it naturally.

Ballroom dance is a social experience. To learn it requires a cheerful attitude and regular attendance. Wedding preparations are our specialty.

Margaret Fletcher grew up in Asheville, N.C. where she danced at her parents' studio, The Fletcher School of Dancing. Upon high school graduation she became a Radio City Rockette. In 1971 she moved to New Bern and opened the Margaret Fletcher Dance Studio.
